We are Australia’s leading athletic footwear retailer.

The Athlete’s Foot began operations in Australia in 1976, after acquiring the licence from the American founder.

In 1986, Dave Cooper, the founding Managing Director of The Athlete’s Foot Australia Pty Ltd, pioneered the concept of becoming a footwear-only athletic retailer. This would become our point of difference in a crowded market, and the cornerstone of our business.

In 2004, The Athlete’s Foot was acquired by RCG Corporation Limited, a company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. RCG is an investment holding company with a board comprised of some of the most highly respected members of the retailing, franchising, brand development, business development and financial management industries.

Today, The Athlete’s Foot Australia operates more than 135 stores across Australia and New Zealand, of which more than 95% are franchised. We are the leader in technical performance footwear in this region and the largest single retailer of athletic footwear in Australia.

As a result of our service, fitting and technical expertise, we have developed a retail brand that stands in front of the brands we sell. A focus on store consistency and staff training, reinforced with a consistent marketing message has seen The Athlete’s Foot grow into a trusted household name.
