Good grip on mud and loose rocks, but still fairly light. Have enough cushion to keep going for a long while and have done me well. After 250km (155 miles) they started to tear between the upper and the sole along the side. These tears have continued as the shoes have now reached a mileage of 270km (167 miles). I believe that these shoes wont last far beyond 320km (200 miles). The only other slight issue was that the shock protection on the sole is quite poor in my opinion as sharp stones and rocks are felt very easily. The only thing to note is that I do race these shoes in hill or fell running races, so this may be a reason that they haven't quite filled the Asics Expectation. Would still recommend as have been a great step up from Gel Venture 8s, but please be aware of the longevity. (Longevity has killed my last 3 pairs of Asics shoes!)
